These bugs have been fixed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.109 - Thu, 26 Jan 2012 09:21:07 MST Fixed Int32 consumption rate overflow bug --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously the consumption rate control threw an Int32 overflow error when the daily consumption rate in bytes exceeded the size of an Int32. This bug has been fixed. Previously when viewing large disks, for example 2 TBs, the disk properties dialog truncated the "Bytes" units thus only showing the size in bytes without the units. This bug has been fixed. Previously the export to CSV saved the file to a UTF8 file format. In order for Microsoft Excel to automatically load the output CSV file the file format must be ASCII. The software has been updated to save to either ASCII or Unicode if explicitly requested. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.108 - Thu, 19 Jan 2012 21:40:00 MST Fixed list view bug --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Recently we introduced a bug into the list view control which rendered the custom column popup box useless. This bug has been fixed. Previously the Directory Watcher configuration dialog contained an extra suppress action check box. The extra box has been removed and back-end code updated to deal with the extra configuration parameter. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.107 - Wed, 11 Jan 2012 08:16:07 MST Fixed AutoConfigurator bug --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously when using the AutoConfigurator to automatically configure computers added to the domain any applied filters were ignored. This bug has been fixed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.106 - Wed, 14 Dec 2011 16:35:43 MST Fixed Schedule Distributor bugs --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously there were several bugs in the schedule distributor algorithm as well as the user interface. These bugs have been fixed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.105 - Wed, 14 Dec 2011 00:38:17 MST Fixed duplicate files report bug --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously when executing a duplicate file report against several configured top level directories a fatal error was thrown when duplicate files were detected. This bug has been fixed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.104 - Mon, 14 Nov 2011 11:00:29 MST Added disk history export function --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Users can now export a disk monitor's history to a CSV file. From the disk monitor's properties dialog, select the History tab. Click Save to export the history to a CSV file. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.103 - Fri, 12 Aug 2011 11:07:31 MDT Fixed Windows 7 UI Bugs --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously on Windows 7 if a user changed the display to 125% some of the wizards did not display correctly. These bugs have been fixed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.102 - Mon, 18 Jul 2011 15:16:57 MDT Fixed directory monitor configuration bug --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously on certain systems when adding a new directory monitor to a computer which already contains another directory monitor, all pre-existing text directory monitors were removed. This bug has been fixed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.101 - Wed, 13 Jul 2011 08:02:26 MDT Fixed code signing issue --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously when installing this software or rebooting the server, the service may have failed to start on some systems. We thought we had fully resolved this issue by removing the code signature from the service binary however it appears all dependent dlls must also be unsigned. This issue has been worked around. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.100 - Tue, 05 Jul 2011 08:56:28 MDT Made minor changes to help file --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Several updates have been made to the troubleshooting section within the help file. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.99 - Mon, 27 Jun 2011 11:32:15 MDT Fixed a Server 2008 R2 installation bug --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously when installing to Server 2008 R2 if the Application Server Role was not installed the service would fail to start and the installation would fail. The installation now checks for the existence of the Application Server Role when installed to Server 2008 R2 or higher. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.98 - Tue, 21 Jun 2011 21:35:18 MDT Fixed start process UI bug --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously when browsing for the file to remote execute when configuring a start process action an error was thrown. This bug has been fixed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.97 - Fri, 10 Jun 2011 06:07:35 MDT Fixed installation bug --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously the service may have failed to start after a reboot if the Cryptographic Service was slow to start. According to Microsoft this occurs because the service binary is digitally signed. The solution Microsoft has provided to the community is to exclude code signing from all Windows Services. The service binary is no longer signed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.96 - Tue, 07 Jun 2011 08:15:50 MDT Fixed alert content bug --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously the configured threshold value displayed in the disk size and directory size alerts did not show the correct value. This bug has been fixed. The list view controls we use throughout the software did not properly redraw the embedded scrollbars when the control was not visible and the application was resized. This bug has been fixed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.95 - Wed, 01 Jun 2011 08:37:28 MDT Fixed several user interface bugs --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously after creating a new disk monitor when viewing the consumption rate report the daily consumption rate may have been incorrect until after at least one day had passed and several data points had been saved. When scanning hourly, the value should now show a more accurate value during the first day of data retrieval. Previously when exploring disks and double-clicking a node within the detail view which causes an access denied error to be thrown the tree view would select the directory in question but the detail view would not clear. The detail view now clears. Previously the detail view did not show the file count, directory count and total size columns unless the user manually added them via the customer list view header control in the upper right. The columns are now automatically added to the view. The columns within the Largest Files Report did not resize when the report was resized. This bug has been fixed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.94 - Sat, 28 May 2011 23:37:48 MDT Fixed installation bug --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously the installation was not marked to run as administrator. This could cause the user interface not to load during an install or the UI to remain open during an uninstallation. This bug has been fixed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.93 - Fri, 20 May 2011 11:12:21 MDT Fixed schedule distributor bug --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously the schedule distributor did not properly distribute minutes and every X hour schedules where X is > 1. These bugs have been fixed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.92 - Wed, 11 May 2011 13:30:56 MDT Fixed disk summary report bug --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously when re-configuring a disk summary report that included a server that was off-line or a server that no longer contains a disk or share that was previously configured the configured disks and shares did not display. This made it impossible for users to remove disks and shares no longer available from the report without first removing and re-adding the server from the report. This bug has been fixed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.91 - Wed, 04 May 2011 14:50:51 MDT Fixed host importer bug --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously our host importer function was not enabling users to select the template to apply to newly imported computers. This bug has been fixed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.90 - Wed, 13 Apr 2011 01:59:13 MDT Fixed reparse point limitation --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously reparse points could not be recursed. Recursion is now enabled when the root node is flagged as a reparse point however all sub-directories that are flagged with a reparse point attribute are ignored as reparse points break recursion. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.89 - Tue, 05 Apr 2011 08:21:54 MDT Fixed Disk Explorer bug --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously when attempting to view the local disk properties from within the Disk Explorer an object reference error was thrown. This bug has been fixed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.88 - Wed, 30 Mar 2011 23:08:25 MDT Fixed encryption bug --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously if FIPS compliance was enabled the service failed to start. This typically manifests itself during installation as a service start failure. Upon inspection of the service log file the following error is written: This implementation is not part of the Windows Platform FIPS validated cryptographic algorithms. This bug has been fixed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.87 - Thu, 24 Mar 2011 13:58:27 MDT Fixed user interface action assignment bugs --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously a bug was introduced which exposed itself when attempting to open the Actions Manager from the Assign Action dialog. When opened an object reference error was thrown. These bugs have been fixed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.86 - Wed, 16 Mar 2011 09:06:07 MDT Added several properties dialogs --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Users can now right click on any computer, disk or set of disks (within the dashboard) and select Properties to re-configure computer/disk monitoring using a properties tabs style dialog. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.85 - Thu, 10 Mar 2011 09:09:57 MST Added Disk Quota Support --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously users were unable to monitor disk space quotas. Users can now use Disk Monitor to monitor shares that have hard quotas assigned. Previously uses were unable to monitor local shares. This limitation has been removed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.84 - Mon, 07 Mar 2011 22:15:59 MST Fixed configuration restore bug --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously when restoring a configuration to a new computer the monitor dependent state files were not immediately created. This caused several significant errors that may or may not self-resolve depending on how the monitors are configured. The most common issue discovered was all scheduled functionality was immediately executed regardless of the schedule. This bug has been fixed. Previously when deleting a group and a sub-set of the listed child objects the user interface did not properly update the view. This bug has been fixed. Previously when saving data to the internal Disk Monitor format (rather than a database) if the output directory did not exist an error was thrown and the history was not saved. The monitor now creates the directory, creates the history file and finally appends the data. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.83 - Wed, 02 Feb 2011 10:34:12 MST Added variable support to start process action argument list --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Per a user request the Start Process action now supports replacing tags within the argument list enabling functions such as the Directory Watcher to pass the filename that was created, delete, renamed or changed to the process being started via a command-line argument. To pass the effected filename chose from one of the following tags: {FILENAME} or {NEW_NAME}. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.82 - Sun, 30 Jan 2011 09:52:42 MST Made several minor UI updates --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Made several usability changes to the Schedule Distributor. Fixed several UI bugs found within the Directory Monitor Wizard. Changed the default SMART frequency from 10 minutes to every hour. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.81 - Mon, 24 Jan 2011 12:02:58 MST Added robust report cleanup function --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously when deleting a computer, disk or directory monitor the referenced reports were not cleaned up. The user interface now prompts the user of all dependencies prior to deleting the monitors. When prompted the user has the option to remove or retain the report references. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.80 - Fri, 07 Jan 2011 16:03:22 MST Added Active Directory Filters --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Users can now configure the Auto Configurator to include a single filter to apply when scanning an Active Directory tree. When applied only computers that pass the filter are configured. The Browse Active Directory dialog now enables users to recursively scan and apply an Active Directory filter to each discovered computer. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.78 - Wed, 15 Dec 2010 09:16:28 MST Replaced automatic detail display with on-demand toolbar button --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously when selecting a node within the Navigation view the detail view was automatically opened. In large environments or when doing lots of work this can become very annoying when you are not interested in the detail view. The detail view is no longer automatically displayed. To view the detail, either double-click the node as you would have prior to this build, right click and select View Navigation Detail, or press F7. Previously the command timeout and connection timeout values found within the Data Providers tab within the Options dialog used Spin Controls. These controls are difficult to use and have been replaced by simple Text Box controls. Users can now test scheduled reports immediately by selecting an option within the General Page of the Report Wizard. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.77 - Tue, 14 Dec 2010 17:33:07 MST Fixed long load time issue --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously when monitoring hundreds of disks that are configured within several groups the user interface was slow to open. This issue has been addressed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.76 - Wed, 01 Dec 2010 00:56:45 MST Fixed several service bugs and numerous UI bugs --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously when a scheduled Directory Summary Report encountered a network error while scanning the report would show the Error icon but the status was labeled OK. This bug has been fixed. Previously the Disk Monitor Templates did not save the assigned group. This bug has been fixed. Previously when applying a Disk Monitor Template to a new selection of computers the wizard would re-scan the already scanned computers for administrator shares. This bug has been fixed. The error message for failed SMART Status scans has been updated. Previously the Auto Configurator did not show the next execution time when first opened. This bug has been fixed. The Select Computers page within the Report Properties Wizards now display the number of computers assigned to the report. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.75 - Mon, 29 Nov 2010 17:24:51 MST Added 64-bit Windows Installer --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Disk Monitor is now offered with a native 64-bit installer. Previously when ever checking a tree node within one of the navigation panes the tree node was automatically selected causing an automatic scan to run. In large environments this was very annoying. The tree node is no longer automatically selected. The Disk Monitors Wizard now offers the option to remove computers from the selected computers list that were previously selected through, for example the Active Directory browser, that are not online. Previously SNMP traps did not fire on Server 2008 and Vista. This bug has been fixed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.74 - Wed, 24 Nov 2010 12:48:32 MST Fixed Auto Configurator bug --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously if a user had specified a username and password when configuring their Active Directory connection, computers that were listed within the AD tree that are offline, unreachable or decommissioned were still mapped into the system when the Auto Configurator ran. The Auto Configurator no longer maps these AD nodes into the system. Several of the configuration wizards now include a selected computer and disk count where appropriate. Previously when canceling a disk discovery an unhandled exception may have been thrown. This bug has been fixed. The Disk Discovery dialog now includes an option to hide informational messages. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.73 - Mon, 22 Nov 2010 22:24:31 MST Added Schedule Distributor and fixed several bugs --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously when configuring 100s of disks there was no way to evenly distribute the monitor schedules over time which could easily lead to the software bottlenecking. All the of Disk and Directory Monitors now include a schedule distributor option enabling users to evenly distribute scans over time. All of the Browse for dialogs now include a Ctrl-A handler enabling users to check all of the objects listed in the dialog. Previously when overwriting a disk or directory configuration template the updated values were not saved. This bug has been fixed. Previously when viewing a template the template type displayed the obfuscated value. This enumeration is no longer obfuscated. Optimized some of the tree view display code for large networks. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.72 - Sat, 13 Nov 2010 12:14:54 MST Updated Assign Actions dialog --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously users could only assign a single action one at a time to a monitor. The Assign Actions dialog has been updated to enable users to multi-select actions. Previously the tray icon alert status did not properly update once the SMART monitor was disabled for the associated disks. If monitoring SMART on a disk that did not support SMART or WMI was blocked causing the SMART status to trigger causing the tray icon status to trigger. Once the SMART monitor was disabled for the associated disks the tray icon status did not update. The tray icon status is now properly updated. Previously when users selected multiple computers, disks or directories within the Dashboard the corresponding Properties Wizard would only enable users to re-configure one computer. The wizards now include all selected computers. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.71 - Tue, 05 Oct 2010 10:58:18 MDT Added TLS support to email alerts and reports --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Users can now encrypt email packets using TLS. Previously when re-configuring directory monitors for a server that is currently off-line, the Select Directories page did not show the currently configured directories. This bug has been fixed. Previously when modifying the data provider, when the user closed the dialog without saving the changes the in-memory version of the configuration was altered. This required the user to restart the user interface in order to reload the actual values. This bug has been fixed. Previously the CDYNE SMS gateway action always resulted in an error even when the action was properly fired. This bug has been fixed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.69 - Thu, 23 Sep 2010 11:34:36 MDT Added directory cleaner function --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Disk Monitor now includes a Directory Cleaner which can automatically deleted aged files. Use the Directory Cleaner to automatically delete old database backups as well as application logs such as IIS logs. Use the Directory Monitor Wizard to configure the Directory Cleaner. Fixed several tab order bugs within the configuration wizards. Previously when a Disk Summary Report was configured to only show disks that have passed a threshold or have the SMART status set, the report incorrectly listed all disks that were not configured to poll the SMART status. This bug has been fixed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.68 - Wed, 15 Sep 2010 19:46:09 MDT Fixed report wizard bug --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously when using the Disk Summary Report Wizard if adding computers that are off-line an object reference error was thrown. This bug has been fixed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.67 - Wed, 08 Sep 2010 15:49:18 MDT Added consumption rate option to disk summary reports --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Disk Summary Reports can now display consumption rate information for a configurable date range. To enable this option modify your existing reports via the Report Properties Wizard. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.66 - Tue, 31 Aug 2010 00:22:36 MDT Added Oracle Support --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Disk Monitor now includes support for Oracle database. Upgraded installation engine to InstallShield 2011. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.65 - Thu, 12 Aug 2010 09:17:11 MDT Fixed consumption rate bug --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously when viewing a disk space consumption rate report an error was received if the date till full was a very high number, such as 700000 days or 1500 years. This bug has been fixed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.64 - Mon, 09 Aug 2010 18:53:37 MDT Added computer list importer --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Users can now import and optionally configure a list of computers from a text or CSV file. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.63 - Mon, 09 Aug 2010 10:46:55 MDT Fixed critical serialization bug --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The last build introduced a serialization bug that caused issues when specifying logon as credentials. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.62 - Sat, 07 Aug 2010 20:32:39 MDT Made significant user interface enhancements to the wizards --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Updated all the report wizards to enable users to select computers not already being monitored. Aliased computers not display in the following format within all the wizards: ALIAS (HOSTNAME or IP). Fixed a bug seen rarely on Windows XP workstations where a bogus empty domain appeared within the network object discover tree controls. All the computer selection dialogs have been updated to be more user friendly. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.61 - Wed, 04 Aug 2010 17:03:51 MDT Added hostname alias support --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Users can now assign an alias or logical name to a configured computer. To alias a computer name select File | Map Computer. Type the hostname, any required logon credentials and finally specify the alias. The alias will appear in the tree view and detail views however the actual hostname is used when configuring monitors and reports. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.60 - Fri, 30 Jul 2010 09:53:02 MDT Added extended error information to get free disk space function --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously a generic error was displayed when attempting to get the free disk space. The function has been updated to get detailed information which should help the user troubleshoot the error better. Previously if a user disabled the SMART monitor within a disk monitor the application would continue to retrieve the status when viewed within the user interface. The user interface now only retrieves the SMART status if a disk is not configured or if the disk is configured and the SMART monitor is enabled. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.58 - Thu, 29 Jul 2010 17:17:40 MDT Optimized Duplicate Files reports --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Duplicate Files report has been optimized for minimum memory usage at the cost of speed. Fixed an installation bug that enabled expired users to install the latest version only to be later prompted by the user interface that they must update their maintenance contract to run the latest version. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.57 - Thu, 22 Jul 2010 14:22:23 MDT Added Disk Summary Report option --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Disk Summary Report now enables users to only show disks that have crossed a warning or critical free disk space thresholds or have triggered SMART. The Disk History view previously failed to display the date when displaying records for several days. This bug has been fixed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.56 - Wed, 21 Jul 2010 11:45:10 MDT Enhanced the temporary files report --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The temporary files report now includes Temporary Internet Files directories for each user enabling system administrators to automatically delete temporary internet files on all servers and workstations. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.54 - Tue, 29 Jun 2010 12:18:43 MDT Addressed licensing usability issue --------------------------------------------------------------------------- When the MAC address changes the software now offers the option to automatically return and re-register. Previously the user was required to contact Corner Bowl Software to have their license reset. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.53 - Sat, 12 Jun 2010 10:21:28 MDT Added email address browsing --------------------------------------------------------------------------- When configuring an email action within the Actions Manager, users can add email addresses by browsing the list of known email addresses. The Directory Monitors tab within the Dashboard and Directory Summary reports now automatically displays the directory size history graph. To hide the history, close the docking window. The next time the view is displayed, the history will not display. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.52 - Fri, 11 Jun 2010 14:09:11 MDT Fixed critical bug --------------------------------------------------------------------------- When adding size on disk support to our Directory Properties page we introduced a bug which caused non-Windows devices to throw an error when selected. This bug has been fixed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.51 - Tue, 08 Jun 2010 15:44:20 MDT Added disk defragmentation support --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Disk Monitor now enables users to schedule the service to defragment disks on both local and remote computers. For more information see Defragmenting Disks in the Help file. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.50 - Tue, 08 Jun 2010 09:16:51 MDT Added size on disk calculation --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Directory Properties dialog now calculates and displays the size on disk. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.49 - Fri, 04 Jun 2010 10:56:59 MDT Fixed several user interface bugs --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously after adding or renaming a group, the Disk Monitors and Directory Monitors panes did not sort. When a group is added, the tree view now automatically sorts. When a group is renamed, the groups can be sorted by pressing F5. Previously after mapping a computer, the Network Disk Explorer appended the mapped computer to the tree view rather than inserting the node in the appropriate alphanumerically sorted location. The tree node is now properly inserted into the list of mapped computers. The web server disk group detail HTML template has been updated wrap the Message column. Previously the Utilization column incorrectly sorted by the Used Size instead of the Used Percent. This bug has been fixed. Previously the % of Disk column incorrectly sorted by the Directory Size instead of the % of Disk value. This bug has been fixed. When re-configuring a Directory Summary report in which one of the computers within the report no longer contains directory monitors an object reference error was thrown after the user clicked the Select All button within the Select Directories page. This bug has been fixed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.46 - Tue, 01 Jun 2010 11:29:05 MDT File access report can now be run from Reports and Views pane --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously configured File Access reports could not be displayed when double-clicked via the Reports and Views pane. The report is now displayed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.45 - Tue, 25 May 2010 17:15:23 MDT Added SMART Status retry --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Several customers had notified us that their SMART status monitor were randomly returning success and error results for the same disk. The following errors were possible: "Unable to retrieve logical disk" or "Object reference not set to an instance of an object". The behavior is absolutely unexpected. We wrote a test application to call WMI on a remote computer from various threads at the same time and reproduced the error. Apparently WMI can return nondeterministic results. We don't know of any way around this WMI bug, however, after adding a single simple retry we seem to always get the expected results. Long story short, we added a retry to the SMART status monitor. Previously uses were only able to schedule our Duplicate Files Report. Users can now run Duplicate Files Reports on demand. Once run a the report is displayed within the user interface. The About Box now includes the number of license computers being monitored and when not an Unlimited license, the remaining # of computers that can be monitored. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.43 - Thu, 20 May 2010 14:03:35 MDT Added directory monitor print option --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Users can now print the Directory Monitor list within the Dashboard as well as on-demand Directory Summary Reports. The directory summary HTML templates were updated to include all the directory watcher values. When mapping computers using an IP address, users may have seen an error stating the host could not be resolved. This bug has been fixed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.41 - Tue, 18 May 2010 09:45:09 MDT Fixed significant monitor bug --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously both the disk and directory monitors would continually fire if both the warning and critical thresholds were crossed. This bug has been fixed. Previously both the disk and directory monitors would automatically clear the next time a scan ran and the sizes were below the threshold. This behavior was incorrect. The alert state now remains triggered until the service automatically clears the state or the user manually clears the state. Previously the vertical axis on the history chart incorrectly displayed "Free Space (GB)". The label has been changed to "Disk Space (GB)". Previously when creating a directory based report, users could not add a computer unless the computer already had at least one directory monitor assigned. Users can now add any computer that has at least one disk monitor assigned. Within the same wizard previously all monitored directories were automatically selected. The wizard now leaves the directories de-selected forcing the user to explicitly check the directories to include in the report. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.37 - Fri, 14 May 2010 11:17:06 MDT Fixed duplicate files and file access report bug --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The automated duplicate files and file access reports could pre-maturely return if a file was deleted while the scan was running. This bug has been fixed. Previously when creating directory based reports, the application only allowed users to select monitored directories. Users can now add directories that have not been configured for monitoring. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.35 - Tue, 11 May 2010 11:32:38 MDT Added several new functions --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Users can now convert history from one type to another. For example, history saved to the file system can not be converted into SQL Server. Automated Disk Summary reports can now be sorted by free space, percent free, used space, percent used, and capacity. Users can also specify the sort order (ascending or descending). Users can now specify a report description. The disk history is now automatically displayed when a disk is selected within the dashboard or disk summary report. Users can now print Disk Summary Reports on demand. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 10.0.0.30 - Wed, 05 May 2010 13:30:26 MDT Fixed directory scan bug --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Previously directory scans were bypassing directories with the "NotContentIndexed" attribute set. This exclusion was included to stop recursive scans into the "Application Data" directory present within Server 2008 and Vista. Bypassing directories with this attribute caused the "Program Data" directory on Server 2008 to be bypassed. We have switched the application to bypass directories with the "ReparsePoint" tag instead. Using this tag appears to resolve both issues. Previously the {HOST} and {PATH} tags were not replaced when used within the Subject field of a Disk or Directory Summary Email Report. The reports have been updated to display shorter descriptions for each assigned permission and type of permission. In an effort to enable users to display rights for all first level sub-directories an option has been added to ignore the root directory. The HTML template now enables users to group directory access permissions by username. A new template called access_permissions_group_user.html has been added to the templates directory that facilitates this functionality. In previous builds when requesting permissions for an entire disk that contained system volume information an access denied error was thrown immediately stopping the report. The report now continues to run. SMART Disk Monitor now includes a largest files report. To execute the largest files report, navigate to the disk or directory of interest, right click and select Largest Files Report. Specify the number of files to include in the report and click Run Report. Once complete you can export the results, print the results, and select multiple files to delete. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 8.0.0.25 - Sun, 23 Nov 2008 01:58:30 MST Made several UI enhancements to action selection controls --------------------------------------------------------------------------- In previous builds many users were getting confused when assigning actions to SMART status alerts, error alerts, and directory size alerts. We have added a statement above each control set explaining that only the action types associated with the controls are listed. We also changed the behavior of the Actions Manager dialog to default new actions to the type associated with the controls the user invoked the Actions Manager from. For example, if the user is on the SMART tab within the Disk Monitor Configuration Wizard and they click on the manage actions button (wrench and yellow triangle), the Actions Manager dialog now defaults new actions to SMART monitor type rather than Disk as the dialog did prior to this build. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 8.0.0.24 - Fri, 14 Nov 2008 02:08:37 MST Added I64 and X64 .Net 2.0 Framework prerequisites for installations run on I64 and X64 hardware --------------------------------------------------------------------------- In previous builds the installation did not automatically install the platform dependent .Net 2.0 Framework on I64 and X64 computers that did not already have the prerequisite installed. The installation has been modified to, if necessary, download the prerequisites from Microsoft and install them. In previous builds the tray icon had a one minute delay built in as a work around for a startup issue rarely seen on Windows Vista. We believe we have resolved the issue and have therefore removed the startup delay. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 8.0.0.23 - Tue, 28 Oct 2008 02:11:22 MDT Updated the query disks dialog to use background thread pool --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The query disks dialog now uses a background thread pool that enables users to cancel out of the dialog prior to completion. The Directory Monitor Wizard menu item is now enabled when ever the user selects a directory. If the directory’s disk is not currently being monitored a message box now displays prompting the user to configure the disk for monitoring. In previous builds the help displayed an empty page when the user pressed F1 from within the Directory Monitor Wizard. This bug has been fixed. The update software schedule incorrectly defaulted to once a day rather than once a week. This bug has been fixed. When dragging and dropping a monitored disk to another logical group, the expanded directory tree nodes would incorrectly show a check box. This bug has been fixed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 8.0.0.20 - Thu, 23 Oct 2008 02:06:10 MDT Added WMI service dependency --------------------------------------------------------------------------- When rebooting a Server 2003 machine, the service would fail to start when the service was configured to forward internal messages to a syslog server. The failure occurs when the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) service has not yet started. The installation has been updated to install the service with a dependency on WMI. If the software was previously installed, you must uninstall and then re-install for this change to take effect. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 8.0.0.19 - Tue, 07 Oct 2008 12:37:27 MDT Added option to hide sub-directory information from directory size reports --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Users can now create CSV, TXT, and XML directory size reports that do not include sub-directory information. We have added the ability for users to permanently disable the tray icon from within the user interface. To permanently disable the tray icon, select Options from the Tools menu item. Select the Tray Icon tab. Under the Tray Icon heading, check Disable tray icon. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 8.0.0.17 - Mon, 22 Sep 2008 02:47:36 MDT Added new directory size report template --------------------------------------------------------------------------- In response to a customer request we created a directory size report that does not include sub-directory information. While testing the template we ran into a bug that caused the new template to fail. This bug has been fixed. This build also includes the new template we created. The template is called ‘directory_size_no_sub_dirs.html’ and is located in c:\program files\diskmonitor\htmltemplates. Users can create a new action based on a current action. From the Actions Manager select the action to base the new action on and then click Copy. The map computer dialog no longer allows users to see the assigned password. The action configuration dialogs have been moved from the application library to our Corner Bowl Software common library enabling code reuse between all our applications. Please note there are several minor user interface differences. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 8.0.0.16 - Thu, 18 Sep 2008 09:22:13 MDT Added auto configuration --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The service can now be configured to automatically apply a disk monitor template to newly discovered computers. For more information see Automatically Configuring New Computers with in the help file. Default message box actions have been updated to include more information. Updated toolbar buttons to fall in line with Text Log Monitor. Updated the logical group icon displayed within the Network view to fall in line with our other products. Users can now specify to exclude weekends when scheduling reports and configuring monitors. In previous builds the email limiter always limited emails per the configured maximum value despite the limiter being disabled. This bug has been fixed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 8.0.0.14 - Sun, 14 Sep 2008 11:39:11 MDT Added directory monitor history --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The directory monitor now saves size information to a history file. Directory size reports can now be saved to both HTML and TXT files. Users now have the option to backup or append to the previous report. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 8.0.0.12 - Mon, 01 Sep 2008 01:39:54 MDT Major release --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Version 2008 includes many user interface enhancements, optimizations, updated email and HTML output, and support for many different types of alerts and actions. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 7.0.0.30 - Mon, 26 May 2008 05:38:27 MDT Added directory size change detection --------------------------------------------------------------------------- SMART Disk Monitor now includes an option to receive notification when a directory size changes size between disk checks. To monitor a directory for size changes, from the Monitored Disks tree node within the Network view, navigate to the directory of interest. Right click and select Directory Monitor Wizard. Users can set both warning and critical thresholds. The service log view now offers filter capability. To view this new functionality, select Service Log from the View menu item. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 7.0.0.29 - Wed, 14 May 2008 11:00:53 MDT Added directory summary reports --------------------------------------------------------------------------- System administrators can now create a single directory summary email report that includes directory and sub-directory size information from multiple sources. This function is ideal when attempting to verify disk content has been properly replicated to another disk. To create a directory summary report, create a disk monitor for each disk the target directory resides. Next navigate to the directory from the Monitored Disks tree node from within the Network view, highlight the directory, right click and select Directory Monitor Wizard. Complete and close the wizard (you can de-select all options if you do not need to monitor the directory size). Select Directory Summary Reports from the Tools menu item. Create a new report and complete the wizard. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 7.0.0.26 - Fri, 02 May 2008 10:29:47 MDT Added file monitor --------------------------------------------------------------------------- System administrators can now monitor directories for file changes, file creations, file deletions, and file renames. Upon detecting a change, a message can be written to a file or an email notification fired. The file monitor includes support for multiple filename filter masks as well as multiple filename exclusion masks. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 7.0.0.23 - Sun, 13 Apr 2008 11:39:49 MDT Fixed fatal bug when Symantec SNAC Network Provider is installed --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The user interface threw a fatal error on computers with Symantec SNAC Network Provider installed. This bug has been fixed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 7.0.0.22 - Tue, 01 Apr 2008 01:37:53 MDT Fixed major last accessed files report bug --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The last accessed files report did not correctly return all the last accessed files. This bug has been fixed. When running a last accessed files report from the deepest directory when the directory and file name concatenated together exceed the maximum length Windows allows for paths, the application would hang. This bug has been fixed. When running a report that shows all files that have not been accessed since a specific date an error was thrown when the directory and file name concatenated exceed the maximum Windows supported length. This bug has been fixed. The scheduler was updated to include exclusion periods for minute based schedules. Fixed forward and backward clock issues. This bug has been fixed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 7.0.0.16 - Tue, 08 Jan 2008 07:40:13 MST Fixed significant access permission bugs --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The access permissions reports had several path related bugs when monitoring remote Windows is unable to return access rights for some operating system files, for example, pagefile.sys. Previously the access permissions report would log an object reference not found error. The code has been modified to log a more useful error. In previous builds, the access permissions report settings were not saved to the directory monitor templates. This bug has been fixed. In previous builds, the directory tree nodes did not reflect the current status after the configuration wizard removed a directory monitor. The tree view also now updates the current status to any expanded folders under the network views and mapped computer tree nodes when a directory monitor is added or removed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 7.0.0.14 - Wed, 07 Nov 2007 10:04:03 MST Removed access denied exception --------------------------------------------------------------------------- When running an access permission report, any directories the caller does not have access too would cause the report to exit. The behavior has been changed to simply log the error and continue. The History tab on the Configuration Wizard dialog was not resizing when the dialog was resized. This bug has been fixed. The Summary Report Wizard dialog did not include both Close and Cancel buttons. This bug has been fixed. When making changes to the summary report, users were unable to cancel out their changes. This bug has been fixed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 7.0.0.10 - Tue, 25 Sep 2007 10:11:31 MDT Fixed update and un-installation custom action failure. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- On certain systems update installations and un-installations would fail due to a system library missing. This bug has been fixed. Rarely the menu bar, toolbars, and network window would disappear. We have been unable to duplicate the problem, however; we have added some code to ensure the menu item, toolbars, and network window always displays at startup. Added some debug messages to the access permissions reports when validating users. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 7.0.0.9 - Sun, 23 Sep 2007 08:31:16 MDT Added AD validation to access permissions reports --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Access permissions reports now provide the user with the option to validate each returned user against Active Directory. Logical groups can now be assigned via the Configuration Wizard. All application data files are now stored in the common and application data paths. In previous builds, the Configuration Wizard enabled users to assign the template from the Intro or Disks selection page. If no disks had been selected, the template assignment did nothing. The template buttons are now disabled on the Intro and Disks selection page. When adding new monitors the Monitored Disks tree node was previously refreshed sometimes causing the disk query window to open and query all disks. This behavior has been modified so new monitors are simply added to the list. When deleting all monitors from a logical group, the group is now automatically removed. The installation now closes all open S.M.A.R.T. Disk Monitor windows. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 5.0.0.52 - Tue, 19 Jun 2007 09:11:59 MDT Fixed incorrect labels in Directory Monitor wizard --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Access Permissions tab in the Directory Configuration Wizard did not have the correct label descriptions. The Directory Monitor wizard did not print out the access permissions configuration. This bug has been fixed. The Directory Monitor wizard did not enforce the access permissions output report file extension. This bug has been fixed. The calculating directory size message was previously a debug message. This message has been propagated to the Informational level. When the directory monitor fired a critical or warning alert, 2 messages that were very similar were written to the log. One of the messages was removed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Build 5.0.0.50 - Mon, 11 Jun 2007 11:46:43 MDT Fixed several access permissions report bugs --------------------------------------------------------------------------- If saved a server name or its share names casing differed from the discovered casing, the access permissions reports would sometimes fail. This bug has been fixed. Replaced the Directory Rights menu items and corresponding dialog text with Access Permissions. Access permissions reports would error when attempted from a share. A message has been added limiting the report to administrator disk shares and local disks. The Directory Monitor Wizard did not initialize the Enabled check box properly. This bug has been fixed.
